She has a vague memory of a father. A longing that she doesn’t even know the origin of, because try as she might, she cannot recall a face … or anything … except for the money he sent for many years. Even when she herself became a mother at the age of 17, he was sending money. But it has stopped for about two years. He doesn’t know she had a child, because nobody knows where he is. He hasn’t been back at the village in years.

Not White? Not Welcome!
What’s the difference between a notice outside a public toilet that states:
“Whites Only” during the apartheid years, and the phrase: “Seeking clean, honest, Caucasian housemate” in a public advertisement for shared accommodation decades later?
I’ll tell you. There is none.
Why print in the age of the internet?
