This opportunity prioritises people from historically disadvantaged communities,including townships,informal settlements,inner cities and rural areas. If you are not based in one of these communities,please explore other ways to participate,such as attending or becoming an advertising partner.

Facilitating Community Conversationsis not a one-off commitment. Please register for this role only if you can commit to attending at least two Sunday afternoon meetings per month – one being the actual Community Conversationon the first Sunday of every month. The absence of a facilitator can disrupt your community’s opportunity to participate and earn an income,as these Conversations depend on the full team’s participation.

Please note:this is not a job but a collaborative social-entrepreneurial opportunity to create both impact and income within communities. Your role contributes to a team effort where each participant plays a crucial part in making these Conversations happen. Income opportunities depend on securing an advertising partner for each event.

Can You Commit to Leading a Community Conversation?*

The Facilitator role is crucial for the success of your entire team. For them to consistently participate and earn income,your steady,monthly commitment to leading these conversations in your community is essential. This commitment includes being available for roughly 3 hours on the first Sunday of every month,between 13:30 and 16:30,to set up,facilitate the Conversation,and wrap up after the event. Additionally,you are required to attend at least one additional monthly WhatsApp or Zoom meeting on a Sunday at 14:0,which could last up to two hours. If a regular monthly schedule doesn't fit your current capacity, please consider whether this role is the right fit, as your consistent involvement is key to your team's success and the initiative's overall impact.

Facilitators are the backbone of Community Conversations. Without them, the entire team – videographers, security and salespeople – cannot operate or earn an income. Language and translation
Community Conversations should be conducted in the dominant language of your community to ensure that local voices – especially those not often heard or included in mainstream spaces – can speak freely and fully participate in the discussion. If there are English-speaking visitors, they can still be included through simple translation, allowing them to follow the conversation.
