This opportunity prioritises people from historically disadvantaged communities, including townships, informal settlements, inner cities and rural areas. If you are not based in one of these communities, please explore other ways to participate, such as attending or becoming an advertising partner.

Facilitating Community Conversations is not a once-off commitment. Please register for this role only if you can commit to facilitating on the first Sunday of every month or can arrange a suitable substitute in case of unforeseen circumstances. The absence of a facilitator could disrupt the ability of people in your community to participate and earn an income, as these Conversations rely on the participation of a full team.

This is not a job but a collaborative social-entrepreneurial opportunity to create both impact and income within communities. Your role contributes to a team effort where each participant plays a crucial part in making these Conversations happen. Income opportunities depend on securing an advertising partner for each event.

Can you commit to leading a Community Conversation in your community on the first Sunday of every month?*

This includes being available for roughly 3 hours on that day, between 13:30 and 16:30 to set up, facilitate the Conversation, and then wrap-up after the event. This is an ongoing commitment, not a once-off event.

Are you willing to attend at least one additional online meeting per month to ensure the success of Community Conversations?*

1. Planning Meeting (Mandatory): This session takes place on the last Sunday of the month and lasts approximately two hours. All Facilitators nationwide must attend this meeting to discuss the upcoming topic and refine discussion questions. Facilitators who miss this meeting will not be permitted to lead the next Community Conversation. If unforeseen circumstances prevent you from attending, you must arrange for a substitute Facilitator to take your place at the Planning Meeting and lead the Community Conversation. 2. Assessment Meeting (Optional but strongly recommended): This session takes place the Sunday after each Community Conversation. It lasts approximately one hour and provides an opportunity to reflect on what worked, address challenges, and improve future events.

I may choose to postpone or proceed with an event without charging for my services. • Payments to me depend on the advertiser paying their invoice. South African Conversations bears no liability for unpaid earnings or financial losses resulting from advertiser non-payment. • I release South African Conversations from any claims, liabilities or damages related to my role and participation in this collaboration.
