The Resource Directory is South Africa’s definitive guide to a wide range of free or affordable solutions, both online and offline. It is an indispensable tool for people who do not have meaningful access to the internet, as well as for those working to serve society – especially in underserved areas.

Here’s what you need to know about requesting or updating a listing in our Resource Directory

1. Organisations that qualify for free listings

Non-profit organisations (NPOs), public benefit organisations (PBOs), community-based organisations (CBOs), government and faith-based services, programmes and resources, as well as social enterprises whose offerings benefit low-income communities, are all eligible for free listings.

Please support our work by pre-ordering copies at the discounted price with delivery included – available only to listers. A purchase is optional and has no impact on whether your listing is accepted.

If you charge for any service, programme, product, membership, fee, consultation, training, or event, please select the paid listing option, below. Our listing fee for non-commercial listings that include paid offerings is R1,000, incl. VAT.

2. Listing criteria and review process

• • • The offering must be free or very affordable.
    • We will carefully review your information and may edit it for clarity and impact. We will send you the typeset listing for approval before including it in the next edition.
    • South African Conversations reserves the right to decline any listing request, without explanation. This will not affect any orders for the Resource Directory.
    • We may not be able to list every small organisation or multiple similar organisations serving the same area. However, we are likely to list an organisation if it is the only one of its kind in an area, available in multiple locations, unique, or if others can learn from the example, even if it is small.
    • Whether or not you pre-order has no bearing on whether your listing is accepted. Our criteria are the usefulness of your offering.
    • It’s worth a try. Even if your listing isn’t accepted, you’ll still get the benefit of a 10% discount and free delivery, which works out at roughly 30% less than the usual total cost. There’s no risk: we only invoice once we print, and you’ll have 30 days to pay.
